Barrack, longtime pal of President Donald Trump, in March authored a white paper on Medium predicting that margin calls, foreclosures, evictions and bank failures stemming from the crisis could have an impact greater than that of the Great Depression on commercial real estate. He called for government support of the industry and a $500 billion tax-payer funded liquidity injection into the financial system. In April, the CEO appeared on Bloomberg Television claiming that the real estate industry was in dire straits because the government was allowing homeowners and renters skip payments. At the time, Barrack said the number of tenants in Colony’s portfolio that paid rent was “amazingly good,” but predicted a falloff in May.As for its recent defaults, Colony said that it could not guarantee its current talks with lenders would be successful. The investment firm has $1 billion of cash on hand and tapped into a $600 million credit facility. Colony’s chief financial officer, Mark Hedstrom, said the company expects to meet its obligations. (iStock)Veterans and servicemembers make up 20 percent of homebuyers, and in theory, they are supposed to get better deals on their mortgages thanks to VA Home Loans, which are provided by private lenders with the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs guaranteeing a portion of the loan. But a new study found that too often, they end up paying more than they should. The study, which was conducted by technology company Own Up and first reported by NPR, found several reasons for this, including lenders setting higher profit margins on VA loans; a proliferation of “churning” schemes designed to increase refinancing; and the charging of high origination fees, which VA lenders are authorized to do.Own Up, which was founded by two former mortgage bankers, is geared toward helping people find better deals on mortgages. The company’s study relied on 2019 lending data showing rates from the top 20 providers of VA loans.ADVERTISEMENT“When we looked at the spread, candidly, we were quite surprised that it was as wide as it was,” said Patrick Boyaggi, Own Up’s CEO. “The best lenders and the worst lenders were so far apart from one another.”Navy Federal Credit Union, one of the country’s largest credit unions, offered the lowest rates, the study showed. New Day USA, a lender founded in 1999, had the highest.New Day told NPR in a statement that the study’s methodology was flawed because it had categorized two different types of loans in the same bucket. The company said it aimed “to assist servicemembers and veterans to receive the benefits that they so rightly deserve.”But Mike Calhoun of the Center for Responsible Lending told NPR that did not add up.“The information from this lender does not explain why their borrowers are being charged so much more than other lenders are charging their VA borrowers,” he said. Chris Simpson held off Cayden Carter in winning the IMCA Modified feature, and $1,000, at Benton County Speedway’s opener Sunday night. The checkers put Simpson on the ballot for the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational. (Photo by Jim Wittke) The IMCA Sunoco Stock Car feature was another nailbiter. Leah Wroten led early as she has shown that she will be a force to be reckoned with. Steve Meyer took the lead on lap 16 of the 20 lap feature and went on to take the checkers, just nipping Damon Murty at the checkers. Wroten held on to finish third. Defending national champion Tyler Soppe scored the Karl Kustoms Northern SportMod win. He chased down early leader Ben Chapman and made the winning move as the race slipped past the midway point. The headliner of the night was the 25-lap IMCA Modified feature, which provided great racing on the perfectly prepared track and a battle to the checkered flag. Simpson, driving a Doug Cue-owned car, started on the pole position, led the race early and appeared to have control of the race until fourth starting Carter began to reel him. Carter raced to the white flag on the rear bumper of Simpson and set up a side-by-side drag race down the back chute as the checkered flag was about to be waved. Simpson shot off the high side of turn four and held off Carter at the finish line taking the win by half a car length. Ethan Braaksma followed across the stripe in third. By Jerry Mackey Simpson’s victory paid $1,000 and put him on the ballot for the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational. Kaden Reynolds got to the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock stripe first, ahead of Nathan Ballard and Bret Vanous. VINTON, Iowa (May 24) – With fans watching on big and small screens, Chris Simpson held off Cayden Carter in winning the IMCA Modified feature on opening night Sunday at Benton County Speedway. The Bullring had a stellar field of 120 race cars in attendance. While the Covid-19 pandemic has played havoc with the scheduling of racing events, perseverance and innovative thinking got the season officially underway. The grandstands were closed on Sunday night but fans were allowed into the parking lot where they could view the races on a drive-in style large movie screen and the races were broadcast on IMCA.TV.

You’re all set! “Winning is obviously the best part,” Long Beach State coach Mike Weathers said. “But getting to see so many guys this weekend was also nice.” The Dirtbags (2-1) used seven true freshmen in the three-game series against a USC lineup that didn’t have any starters back in the same positions from a year ago and featured eight newcomers throughout the weekend. The questions about the newcomers were quickly put out of the way, and the initial answers were more pleasing for LongBeach State. In a matchup of teams loaded with youth and uncertainty, Long Beach State put many of its newcomers to use in defeating USC 5-1 Sunday at Dedeaux Field in the deciding game of the season-opening series. Senior left-hander Omar Arif (1-0) got the win in his Long Beach State debut. Arif, a transfer from Texas Christian, where he was a reliever, was on a tight pitch count, but held USC to twohits in four shutout innings in the start against Trojans newcomer Anthony Vasquez. Vasquez (0-1), a sophomore transfer from Texas A&M who had started in the outfield during the Trojans’ first three games, went six innings. The left-hander allowed two runs on six hits and four walks with three strikeouts. The biggest blow of the afternoon came from one of the few established Dirtbags. Shortstop Danny Espinosa, lastyear’s BigWest Conference Freshman of the Year, hit a three-run homer on the first pitch from USC reliever Shawn Olsen to cap the scoring in the seventh inning. Designated hitter J.J. Owen, who was 2 for 3, was the only USC player with multiple hits. [email protected]
There is a really good step-by-step with screen shots here: http://communities.intel.com/docs/DOC-4795 (See section 3)Thanks–Richard As many of you know development of projects like Intel AMT take a long time. We generally work on a project for a full year before launch (well, I do anyway. Our developers, architects, and project planning folks begin working on it long before that). I realized that for someone just starting to use an AMT 6.0 platform the concept of Enterprise vs. Small Business Mode is now gone. Some people have come to me and asked “How do I just turn it on for a quick demo?”. Well, I’m happy to say it can be done very easily!Enabling Intel AMT is a manner similar to previous generation’s SMB Mode (how’s that for a title?!)Power on the system and enter MEBx (generally by pressing CTRL-P during boot, but this may vary from PC manufacturer to manufacturer)Enter your password (the default password is “admin” if it’s never been configured)Select “Intel(R) ME General Settings”Select “Activate Network Access”And you’re done!
