Michigan is one of the big winners of National Signing Day, landing No. 1 recruit Rashan Gary a few hours ago. That doesn’t impress everyone from the state, however. NBA All-Star and former Michigan State basketball great Draymond Green was tweeted at about Gary by a Michigan fan. In response, he brought up his recruitment, and the fact that former Michigan State running back Le’Veon Bell, now one of the NFL’s top rushers, was a two-star [email protected] yeah I was 127 out of 150 when I left high school and LeVeon bell was a 2 star. That never matters!!!— Draymond Green (@Money23Green) February 3, 2016Green wasn’t the top player in his class back in 2008, but he was a four-star recruit according to most recruiting services. His point about Bell is valid, however. ESPN, Rivals, and Scout all had Bell as a two-star. While schools like Michigan State often do well with diamonds in the rough, most coaches would rather fill their classes with known superstars, and take their chances that way.
