- A New School Has Been Mentioned As A Transfer Option For Jalen Hurts
ARLINGTON, TX – SEPTEMBER 03: Jalen Hurts #2 of the Alabama Crimson Tide looks for an open receiver against the USC Trojans in the third quarter during the AdvoCare Classic at AT&T Stadium on September 3, 2016 in Arlington, Texas. (Photo by Tom Pennington/Getty Images)One of the biggest transfer quarterbacks in college football has opted to transfer to an SEC program. Former Ohio State QB Joe Burrow announced earlier this weekend that he’ll be transferring to LSU.Another SEC quarterback is being mentioned as a potential transfer candidate in Alabama’s Jalen Hurts. Most expect Tua Tagovailoa to be named the starting QB for the 2018 season. This would move Hurts to the bench and, potentially, out of the Crimson Tide’s program.Where will Hurts go if he leaves?Several schools have been mentioned.A new one – Florida. From Saturday Down South:Mullen had a front row seat to Hurts at his best, when the sophomore led the Tide to a comeback win over Mississippi State last season, easily the Tide’s best win of the regular season and a huge reason Alabama was able to win Nick Saban a sixth national championship. If Florida again goes the transfer route — despite being burned by Malik Zaire last year and only somewhat less redeemed by Austin Appleby and the competent, but injury prone Luke Del Rio before that — Hurts is the guy who becomes the most important recruit.Burrow is just another guy to compete.Hurts is a program changer. It’s still pretty unclear what kind of timeline Hurts is operating on. If he does decide to transfer, a decision is likely going to have to be made soon.Another option for Hurts is to just stay put for the 2018 season, even if he doesn’t start. He could graduate and then play immediately at another school in 2019.Stay tuned.
- Dresser-Rand Powers Up KUGIRA II
zoom Dresser-Rand, a global supplier of rotating equipment solutions to the oil, gas, petrochemical, and process industries, installed five generator sets on Europe’s largest caisson-building floating dock- the KUGIRA II in Setúbal, Portugal.Acciona Infraestructuras (Acciona), a Spanish infrastructure development company, has built numerous maritime projects, including ports, dry docks, shipyards, berthing jetties, and navigation canals for public and private customers worldwide. Acciona was approached in 2012 to build a large caisson-building floating dock in the exterior port at Setúbal. When it came time to select the equipment to power the KUGIRA II, Acciona turned to Dresser-Rand.The KUGIRA II is powered by five of Dresser-Rand’s Guascor® gen-sets-four SF180TA-SG models rated at 400 kW (500 kVA) each and a smaller 76 kW (95 kVA) model. Each tower in the floating dock is equipped with four sophisticated control centers that operate all of the dock’s processes. These control centers allow the gen-sets to operate 365 days a year and feature an electronic injection pump, wet exhaust manifold, double-step intercooler, and oil cooler in auxiliary circuit. The double cooling system maintains two independent cooling circuits with a high temperature of 176 degrees Fahrenheit (80 degrees Celsius) for the cylinder heads and a low temperature of 86 degrees Fahrenheit (30 degrees Celsius) for the oil cooler and after cooler. The double cooling system comes with or without the option of an oxidation exhaust catalyst. These features allow for easy operation and maintenance, the ability to supply power in off-the-grid areas and they provide a heavy-duty, continuous energy source for nonstop maneuvering. These marine diesel engines are designed for heavy-duty applications and optimum fuel consumption, are highly reliable, environmentally friendly, and are easy to install and maintain. This makes them suitable to provide power generation solutions for ships, marine platforms and docks. Press Release, April 18, 2014; Image: seaplace
